Object Collections
In keeping with its mission, the Erie County Historical Society collects, preserves, and studies all facets of the material culture of Erie County, past and present. The Society cares for more than 33,000 three-dimensional artifacts, most of which are from the late 19th to mid 20th century, and have been manufactured or utilized in Erie County. Artifacts range from automobiles, farm implements, uniforms, household items, artwork, decorative arts to costumes and textiles. Collections of special local interest include artifacts from Marx Toy Company, Erie Brewing Company, Eugene Iverd paintings and Lake Erie maritime related materials.
