Museums & Exhibits

The Erie County Historical Society operates four historic house museums and the Museum of Erie County History.

Battles Museums of Rural Life

436 Walnut Street, Girard, PA 16417
Hours: June-August, Sundays 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

This complex features two Civil War era homes that have been converted into museums, formal gardens and ecological trails.

Cashier’s House

419 State Street, Erie, PA 16501
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

An 1839 townhouse built as the primary residence for the chief financial officer of Erie’s branch of the federal bank.

Museum of Erie County History

Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Housed in the Erie County History Center, this museum encourages visitors to explore Erie County history from pre-settlement to today.

Watson-Curtze Mansion

356 West Sixth Street, Erie, PA 16507
Hours: Wednesday-Saturday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

A showpiece of historic West Sixth Street, the Watson-Curtze Mansion is a reminder of Erie’s industrial wealth.
