Public Shows & Times
Looking for a rainy day destination? Public shows are offered year-round at the Erie Planetarium, and with more than fifteen shows available in the planetarium library, the show schedule changes regularly. Shows are offered on Saturdays at 1:30 and 3 p.m. throughout the winter, spring and fall. June through August, the planetarium offers three public shows per week: Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 1:30 and 3 p.m. For additional show information, call 814.871.5790.

The Explorers of Mauna Kea
Saturdays at 1:30 p.m.
This program allows you to discover the view from Mauna Kea in Hawaii where the largest telescopes in the world are scanning the sky. Learn about the famous Keck telescope and other major telescopes. Why is Mauna Kea perhaps the best place in the world to have a telescope? This show is recommended for ages 8 and up.
The Sky Above Mister Roger’s Neighborhood
Saturdays at 3 p.m.
This is an introductory and interactive show that highlights our Sun, Moon and stars. We’ll find the Big Dipper and watch as X the owl tries to save the moon from being taken out of the sky by Lady Elaine. This show is appropriate for ages 2 and up.
