Group visit at the Erie Planetarium

Scheduling a Group Program

Step 1: Group Size

All groups must have a minimum of 10 people to receive the group rate of $2 per child and $3 per adult. Where applicable, one adult per five children will receive a complimentary admission. Groups with less than 10 people will be charged a flat $30 admission fee.

Step 2: Choose Your Program

More than fifteen state-of-the-art shows, interactive programs and hands-on activities are available for student and adult groups.  Program content and delivery is adjusted to meet the learning level of the audience, making these shows appropriate for almost every age.  Group activities, crafts, and program content for school visits are developed using current Pennsylvania Academic Standards and other curriculum requirements.

Build a field trip or group visit that meets your needs by choosing from the list of shows found here.

Step 3: Making Reservations

Call the Planetarium Coordinator at 814.871.5790 for additional information.

Select the show that suits your interests and needs, and choose two or three preferred dates and times for your visit.  We will need your name, your school’s name, address and telephone number, the grade and number of children, and the number of adults who wish to attend.

Step 4: Payment

Unless prior arrangements have been made, payment is due the day of your visit. Cost is $2 per student and $3 per adult. We can accept Visa, Mastercard, cash, or check. Please make checks payable to the Erie County Historical Society.

Step 5: Lunch

Please inform us in advance if lunch facilities will be needed.  Weather permitting, groups are also welcome to enjoy picnicking on the Watson-Curtze Mansion lawn.  Boxed lunches are available to field trip groups.

Step 6: Ask About Planning the Rest of Your Day

Downtown Erie offers many cultural destinations that you may not know about. Plan an entire day downtown by combining your visit to the Planetarium with a visit to the Watson-Curtze Mansion, Erie Firefighters Museum, Erie Maritime Museum, Bicentennial Tower, Erie Art Museum, or expERIEnce Children’s Museum.
