Erie Planetarium

Let us be your guide to the galaxy!

Opened by the Junior League of Erie in 1959, the Erie Planetarium is located in the carriage house of the Watson-Curtze Mansion.  The planetarium was appropriated to the Erie County Historical Society in 2000, and today features history and science related shows, earth science exhibitions, interactive stations and more.

**April 28th, 2012: Join us at the Erie Planetarium for National Astronomy Day. Learn more about the sky from 12-4p.m. Planetarium shows occuring on every hour are half price!

1 P.M. Live presentation by Dr. Darren Williams

2 P.M. Ring World II

3 P.M. Skytellers (Children/Family Program)

There will be plenty of activities all day long for visitors of all ages! We look forward to exploring Astronomy with you.

Public Shows and Times for Spring 2012

Ring World II
Saturdays at 1:00p.m.

Travel along with the Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn and it’s moons and see what new discoveries are made.  This mission, still currently under way is revealing new wonders everyday.  Children and adults ages 8 and up.

 

 

The Little Star That Could
Thursdays at 11:30 a.m.
Saturdays at 2:30 p.m.

Follow the Little Star as he looks around the galaxy for some of his own planets. Find out why being an average star is not so bad. Recommended for ages and up.
