Erie Planetarium

let us be your guide to the galaxy!

Opened by the Junior League of Erie in 1959, the Erie Planetarium is located in the carriage house of the Watson-Curtze Mansion.  The planetarium was appropriated to the Erie County Historical Society in 2000, and today features history and science related shows, earth science exhibitions, interactive stations and more.

Were the Apollo visits to the Moon actually a hoax? Have aliens landed on Earth? Prepare to debunk and tackle pseudoscience head-on. Based on Phil Plait’s “bad Astronomy”. Children and adults ages 8 and up.

Why Coyote Howls”


Saturdays at 3:00 p.m.

Learn the myths, the magic, and the mysteries of the universe as told by the early native Americans. A modern day science explanation will interpret what people long ago actually saw in the sky and how pars of our universe work. Children and Adults ages 7 and up.
