Erie Planetarium

Let us be your guide to the galaxy!

Opened by the Junior League of Erie in 1959, the Erie Planetarium is located in the carriage house of the Watson-Curtze Mansion.  The planetarium was appropriated to the Erie County Historical Society in 2000, and today features history and science related shows, earth science exhibitions, interactive stations and more.

Public Shows and Times for Winter 2010:

Ring World
Saturdays at 1:30 p.m.

Children and adults ages 8 and up can come follow the Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn and its moon Titan.  This exciting probe will explain the mysteries we hope to unravel as we explore the real Lord of the Rings!

The World at Night
Saturdays at 3 p.m.

Children ages 2 and up will be introduced to the night sky and see some friendly animals that like to come out at night on Erie’s Presque Isle State Park.
