ERIE
HISTORICAL
MUSEUM
MOVE
When the Erie
Historical Museum and the Erie County
Historical Society merged in January
2000, the archives and manuscript
collections of the Historical Museum
became part of the new organization.
Since that time, with the awarding
of the “Voices” grant
from the Erie Community Foundation,
the collections have been carefully
numbered and packed for transport
to the Erie County History Center,
where the collections will be consolidated.
Fifty percent of the EHM Archives
has been moved and is now on shelving
at the History Center. The balance
of the EHM collections will be moved
by the end of summer 2002. The collections
will then be unpacked and information
on the holdings integrated into the
card catalog and other finding aids
to help researchers find what they
need.
